Touring into the city to go to festivals is a thing of the past as Mississauga has a number of fun and family-friendly festivals this year.
Carassauga Festival – May 27th – 29th
This Festival of Cultures features live performances, artisans, food, and displays culture and history from all over the world. Get on the free shuttle with your Carassauga passport ($10 in advance, $12 at the door) from Square One to all of the festival locations. This will also get you admittance to all of the festival pavilions where you can check out the entertainment and fun activities planned.
Streetsville Bread & Honey Festival – June 3rd – 5th
This 44-year-old festival is highly-anticipated simply because of the free bread and honey! Besides that, there is a great line-up of entertainment, educational demonstrations, plus carnival rides and games. There is a parade on Saturday and a yummy pancake breakfast on Sunday. You don’t want to miss either day of this 3-day event!
Mississauga Waterfront Festival – June 17th – 19th
Free admission to this great waterfront festival taking place at Memorial Park in Port Credit means your family has no reason not to go! In its 20th year, it features live entertainment, a carnival, sports and games, arts and crafts and many food vendors to fulfill your every appetite. Events at the festival include Discover the Water, Yoga by the Lake and MWF challenge, which features teams of two going through Port Credit to test their knowledge of the city.
Mississauga Rotary Ribfest – July 14th – 17th
Enjoy the very best ribs, entertainment, plus a number of vendors at this fun–filled weekend event, located at Celebration Square. This event also raises some great money for the Rotary Club of Mississauga so it is a feel-good time!
Port Credit Buskerfest – August 19th – 21st
With some amazing live performances, the streets will be alive with roaming buskers, bound to entertain the entire family. Check out stilt walkers, magicians, musicians, daredevils and so many more at this super-fun Buskerfest, located by the lake in Port Credit. The Kidz Zone will be in the gazebo at Memorial Park and will feature interactive acts for the little ones plus face painting, balloon makers, puppets, clowns and so much more.
MuslimFest – August 27th and 28th
Celebrating everything great about Muslim arts and entertainment, this festival showcases local and international artists, along with a multicultural bazaar, kid’s carnival, and a Rising Talent competition where artists from all across Canada compete. There are also some great workshops teaching about calligraphy and geometric art.
Southside Shuffle Blues and BBQ Festival – September 9th to 11th
Located in Memorial Park in Port Credit, this festival features live entertainment, along with some great food at the many local restaurants, clubs and cafes. Get your tickets now to check out the many blues performers performing on the main stages, as well as at the wine bars, Mill Street Beer Gardens, the Artisan Market and the Southside Food Court.
